DYW 2022 Participants No. 8-11

Jaden Savannah Byars – Participant No. 8

Jaden Byars, sponsored by Bonners Ferry Eagles Aerie No. 3522 is the daughter of Michael Byars and Marie West. She has five sisters, Mikayla, Madeleine, Jarreka, Kaylee, and Arabella. Jaden plans on attending the University of Idaho to pursue a career in criminal justice. In her spare time, Jaden participates in cross country and 4-H. She enjoys swimming, reading, and spending time with friends.

A modern personality that interests Jaden is Patricia Cornwell, while a historical figure that interests her is Kate Warne. For her talent, Jaden will be performing a comedic juggling routine.

When asked what makes Jaden most proud of her generation, she said, “My generation is inclusive to all; composed of people from all different backgrounds, ethnicities, genders and races all of which have the same opportunities and potential to succeed in life.”

Evelynn Marie Chaney – Participant No. 9

Evelynn Chaney, the daughter of Thomas and Michele Chaney, is sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars. She has two brothers, William and Gunther. Evelynn plans to attend the University of Idaho to pursue a career in nursing or in fire science.

When Evelynn is not serving as a North Bench Fire Department cadet, she enjoys spending time outdoors, swimming, and volunteering with the VFW. Evelynn is interested in the modern personality Sadie Robinson and historical personality Henry Ford. For her talent, Evelynn will be playing the trombone.

When asked what makes her least proud of her generation, Evelynn said, “Our generation makes a lot of poor decisions like drug use and generally not being nice to people.”

Majasa Gold Allred – Participant No. 10

Moyie Shrine Club is happy to sponsor Majasa Allred. Majasa is the daughter of Brandon and Rachel Blackmore. She has five brothers, Riston, Nathaniel, Tason, Tymber, and Porter; and two sisters, Ember and Lavender. After graduation, Majasa is undecided what she would like to study. Extracurricular activities she enjoys include serving as secretary for her class, traveling, anything relating to animals, and sports.

Majasa will be performing a dance routine for the talent portion of the program.

When asked what makes Majasa most proud of her generation, she said, “I am most proud of the way we can jump on an idea and make it happen.”

Leah Maurine Moellmer – Participant No. 11

Leah Moellmer is sponsored by Bonners Ferry Rod Benders. She is the daughter of Edward and Alisa Moellmer. She has five sisters, Kelly, Jane, Joan, Sammie, and Maggie. Leah would like to attend the University of Utah and pursue a career as a psychiatrist. A historical personality who interests Leah is Clara Barton, while a modern personality she finds interesting is Malala Yousafzai.

A few of the activities that keep Leah busy are participating in track and cross country, skiing, playing the piano, and trail running. For her talent, Leah will be performing a gymnastics routine.

When asked what makes her least proud of her generation, Leah said, “It makes me sad to see the division in the world and the people around me. People use their opinions as weapons and everyone who does not agree becomes an enemy.”

Tickets for this year’s show to be held on Saturday, April 30, go on sale on Monday, April 11 at 10 a.m. for $12 at Mountain Mike’s Health Food Store. All seating is reserved and tickets sell out fast.
