Second Harvest Inland Empire Food Distribution April 8
(Photo by TONIA BROOKS) Second Harvest Inland Empire volunteers wore the appropriate safety precautions to ensure safe handling of food during the event.
Second Harvest Inland Empire will return to Bonners Ferry with its free food distribution on Friday, April 8.
The distributions are scheduled to be drive-through events again at the Boundary County Fairgrounds. Cars enter at the east end of the fairgrounds and exit at the west end. The distribution is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be groceries, including perishable food, for up to 250 families. All are welcome and there are no identification or residence requirements.
Second Harvest works with food producers, wholesalers and retailers to gather food to a Spokane warehouse where it is trucked to people throughout the Inland Empire. This year, five events have already been lined up and four dates are remaining. The scheduled dates are March 5, April 8, May 5, June 9 and June 29.
