BMCS track brings home hardware at districts

SPIRIT LAKE — Boundary County Track and Field teams finished out the season with big wins at districts, taking first and second place out from 12 schools.

Both seventh-grade teams and the eighth-grade boys finished in first place. The eighth-grade girls took second place with only two points behind Timberlake, the first place team.

For the seventh-grade boys, Ben Middleton took first in the 100m with a new personal record of 13.28. Riley Beggerly took first in the 200 with a new PR at 27.82. Alex Stolley took second with a new PR at 28.09.

In the 100m hurdles, Peyton Hinthorn took first with a PR of 18.48. The seventh-graders also took first in the 4X100m relay with a time of 53.59.

The seventh-grade girls took first in the 4X200 relay with a time of 2:01.05.

For the eighth-grade boys, in the 200m the Badgers took the top three places with James Morgan taking first, Spiro Petras taking second and William Stindt finishing third. In the 400m, the Badgers took the top three spots again with James Morgan taking first, Micah Thomson taking second and Nathanial Taylor taking third.

The eighth-graders also took second in the 4X100 relay just .07 second behind first place Timberlake. They finished first in the 4X200 relay with a time of 1:47.08.

For the seventh-grade girls, Ireland Grady took first in the 100m hurdles with a new PR at 19.62. She also took second in the 100m dash. The seventh-graders also took first in the 4X100m relay with a time of 56.90. At the Priest River Junior High meet on May 3, the 4X100m team broke the BCMS record by a one-hundredth of a second.

In throwing events, Aspen Graham took second in the shot put with a throw of 30–00. Eva Willis took second in the long jump at 12–07.

For the eighth-grade girls, Makenna Baisen took first in the 200m with a new PR at 29.01. She also took first in the 100m hurdles at 19.59. Sammy Koehn took second at 19.96, a new PR.

In the throwing events, Hallie Hartman took first in shot put and discus. She threw a whopping 35 feet, 9 inches in shot put and 96 feet, 2.5 inches in discus, a new PR.

Boys seventh grade: 1.Boundary County 139.

Boys eighth grade: 1. Boundary County 173.

Girls seventh grade: 1. Boundary County 118.5.

Girls eighth grade: 2. Boundary County 167.
