Badger volleyball first visit to state since 2017

HILLCREST — Badger volleyball made a trip to state for the first time since 2017 — finishing 0-2.

The No. 6 seed Badgers played third-seed Weiser and fell in three sets; 22-25, 14-25, 14-25.

Leading scorers (unofficial two sets of stats), Asha Abubakari 5 blocks, 3 kills and Helene Rae: 6 kills, 1 ace.

Bonners Ferry then played the No. 7 seed Buhl, which won 3-1. The Badgers were right with Buhl in the first and fourth sets, but ultimately fell to the Wolverines; 24-26, 15-25, 25-23, 20-25.

Leading scorers for Bonners Ferry were Emma Lucas: 2 aces, 2 blocks, 1 kill; Asha Abubakari: 7 kills, 4 blocks; Helene Rae: 6 kills, 4 aces and Kimberly Lucas: 2 kills, 2 blocks.

Badger volleyball finished the season 11-11 overall and 2-0 in league taking the IML championship.
