The publicity committee of the North Idaho Chamber of Commerce will go to the annual meeting of the chamber to be held at Lewiston next month with a publicity plan for North Idaho, which includes the printing and circulation of a 40 page illustrated booklet on the scenery, climate, crops, etc. of the district.

Eighteen members of the local I.O.O.F. lodge autoed to Rathdrum Saturday afternoon to attend the district meeting of Odd Fellows lodges in Northern Idaho.

Examinations were held Saturday at the Bonners Ferry post office for assistant postal clerk and eleven took this examination.

A program to up-date the emergency first-aid equipment now in use by the ambulance was implemented and a motion passed that ambulance service here would join with Community Hospital to install a two-way radio system between the two to give direct communication and expedite availability of immediate treatment upon arrival at the hospital.

Chamber of Commerce Vice President Roy Domico had a number of warm praises for the first lady of Moyie Springs at the Tuesday noon meeting of that group’s board of directors. Thema Burger, caught a little “off guard,” was nearly without words when named “Woman of the Hour,” but managed a brief thank you after being presented a carnation corsage by her hosts.

Howard (Tuffy) Kent received his 50-year membership card and golden certificate from the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

City Council has voted unanimously to delay the proposed annexation of 144 properties.

The Kootenai Tribal Youth Program for ages 3-14 has begun its second year in October. The program, which started last year, involves many activities from learning and developing leadership, respect and responsibility in a safe and healthy environment.

Monday night’s windstorm resulted in at least 850 customers losing power in Boundary County, as well as several thousands of dollars worth of damage to a Mt. Hall area home.
