BONNERS FERRY — Carter Country, which features everything from feed and pet supplies to hardware and gardening supplies has changed locations. However, the new facility is only about 100 yards south of its previous location on U.S. 95.

Owner Charlie Carter told the Bonners Ferry Herald that the new location is slightly larger at nearly 10,000 square feet. He said Carter Country will continue to provide the same great service and quality products, with hopefully more on hand.

Carter added the new location has more parking space and room for expansion.

The store is still being renovated thanks to the help from Nature’s Landscaping Design and Excavation. Signage is interior and exterior renovations are still underway, but Carter Country is open for business.

Carter wanted to thank the community for its loyalty over the years.

He also wanted to thank Dave Sims, the director of the Boundary County Economic Development Council for finding the new building.

He added he wouldn’t have been able to move locations without Sims’ and EDC’s help. Previously, Sims helped Carter find the previous Carter Country location.

As always, local chicks will be available for sale in the spring. The first week of the month discounted pet food will continue as well.

The weekend after Thanksgiving, “Orange Friday” will return to Carter Country with everything in store being on sale.

Carter Country is located 6075 Main St. just south of Bonners Ferry. Call them at 208-267-1900. There is also a Bonner County location at 357 S. Olive Ave. in Sandpoint.
