100 Years Ago
A huge body of rich galena ore has just been located in the Idaho-Continental Mine at Klockmann, Idaho, which has explored to such extent as to prove beyond a doubt that the property contains ore bodies in size and richness to compare most favorably with the producing mines of the Coeur d’Alene district.
The new rock crusher recently purchased by the county is being set up on the Bunting place west of town and will be ready for operation the first of the week. The first surfacing will be done on the new dike dirt road on the south side of the Kootenai River.
At a special meeting of the council Monday evening a contract was authorized for binding the city to furnish water to the North Water Co., which was recently incorporated. The contract will be in force for ten years.

Bonners Ferry Jaycees announced this week the seventh annual Junior Miss Pageant will be held Nov. 4. Co-chairmen, Bob Bosworth and Sam Gilbert, stated at this point they are in the planning stages and a meeting with the senior girls was held last night at the high school.
Future Homemakers of Americas had a kidnap breakfast on Sept. 25 for all high school girls interested in joining F.H.A. this year. The girls were brought to the high school in their pajamas and curlers for a hardy breakfast, calisthenics, and then get ready for school.
Steve Fendos left from Fairchild A.F.B. Monday for 13 months duty in Korea. Donna and the children are at the Hagens until he returns.

A local Shriner, who wishes to remain anonymous, has donated his building at 6846 Truman St. to Moyie Shrine Club.
The Bonners Ferry High School boys and girls cross country teams include four sets of siblings this year. They are: Erin and Sam Hiatt, Reid and Riley Boorman, Aimme and Rayanne McLeish, and Martina and Chris Wright.
A ballet student at the Dance Studio in Bonners Ferry, Jessica Trocke is among more than 40 girls who will appear onstage with professional dancers from Ballet Idaho in a performance of “The Nutcracker” on Nov. 27 at BFHS.
