Community concert to feature Beethoven's music
Novinger Music Center and the Bonners Ferry Community Orchestra are combining forces on Sunday, Oct. 16.
The concert will take place at 2 p.m. at Becker Auditorium at Bonners Ferry High School. The groups will present an exciting concert featuring music by Ludwig van Beethoven — the famous composer from the 19th century and one of the greatest composers of all time.
The first half of the concert will consist of students from Novinger Music Center playing a variety of Beethoven's piano and violin works. The following students will perform Jonas and Johanna Snyder, Josiah Martin, Andelynn and Brynlee Zimmerman, Ethan Cowell, Dakyn, Kaelan and Ambur Robbins, Kyler Bushnell and Wyatt Marino.
After the intermission, the 40-member community orchestra will play movements from Beethoven's 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th symphonies. In addition, Janet Peterson and Glenda Novinger will perform the 4th movement of Beethoven's "Sonata for Pianoforte and Violin in F Major."
This concert will be educational, as well as entertaining, for all ages," said Amanda Elsberry. "Beethoven's music has stood the test of time. It is beautiful, passionate, peaceful, stormy, and amazing … especially considering that much of it was written after the composer lost his hearing."
The concert is free to the public, but donations will be accepted.
