Fioravanti will reclaim traditional Boundary County values

| October 13, 2022 1:00 AM

Fioravanti clearly perceives the real problems in Boundary County. He explains the issues in his latest video, found at (127) Steve Fioravanti for Boundary County commissioner: Vote November 8th — YouTube

Fioravanti wants to reclaim control over Boundary County forests in order to sustain our county, care for our citizens and reduce taxes. He sees that our economy has been broken by the takeover of our natural resources and he wants to remedy that.

We were once a free, independent and proud people in Boundary County. We were able to hunt, collect firewood and travel freely in the woods. There were plenty of logging jobs, not just for corporate lumber companies. The whole county was full of independent gypo loggers, cedar salvage operators and other woodworkers. We were entitled to 8 cords of wood a year, but now roads are closed. Now game is being raised to feed wolves, which were brought in here in violation of Idaho and federal law. But do our current commissioners speak up about this? They just throw up their hands and say nothing can be done. Instead they cooperate with unelected stakeholder groups and accept government money.

Now we are reduced to a welfare county, dependent on government grants. It was never the way with Boundary County citizens to ask for handouts. Those are the traditional values here that I remember. Will we exchange our heritage for a handful of silver coins?
