BCSD considering new SEL curriculum

BONNERS FERRY — The Boundary County School District curriculum review committee has reviewed and recommended curriculum for social emotional learning for grades 6-12.

The Boundary County School District review committee, which included parents, administrator and consolers has reviewed and recommends curriculum of five topics that will be discussed during the school day which include, suicide awareness, bully awareness, vaping, cyber security and health coping strategies.

The five curriculum items can be found at the district's website, www.bcsd101.com under the “community” tab. The items can also be viewed at the district office. Call to schedule a time to preview.

All comments on the topics should be sent to Andrea Fuentes at andrea.fuentes@mail.bcsd101.com. The review period ends Oct. 20.

The SEL curriculum is recommended by the committee, but has not yet been approved by the board of trustees.
