Where emergency school closure information can be found

With the winter months at hand, Boundary County School District No. 101 is reminding residents of how emergency school closures will be announced.

They include:

Radio stations: KBFI (1450 AM), KPND (95.3 FM), KPBX (92.1 FM), and K102.

TV stations that will announce school closures are KREM (Channel 2), KXLY (Channel 4), and KHQ (Channel 6).

Emergency school closure information will also be on the district’s emergency telephone line 208-267-8934, posted on the district’s website at www.bcsd101.com and posted online at bonnersferryherld.com and 9bnews.

The district will be using the power announcement system to notify parents, guardians

and staff of any school emergency, including school closures.

Please use these sources to learn closure information. District officials ask residents to remember inclement weather and winter road conditions may cause buses to be less punctual, so please dress children accordingly.

Thanksgiving break: There will be no school the entire week of Nov. 21-25 for the Thanksgiving break. School will resume Monday, Nov. 28.

Christmas break: The last day of school before Christmas break is Thursday, Dec. 22 and is a full day. Christmas vacation will begin Monday, Dec. 26.

School will resume on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023.
