Shaun Nehemiah Helsper, 37

Shaun Nehemiah Helsper, 37, passed unexpectedly Aug. 18, 2022, in Spokane, Wash.

He was a resident of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, and had attended Bonners Ferry High School. He was the son of Marci Jones and the late Shaun D. Helsper.  

Shaun had a true heart of gold and a personality the size of Texas. He loved music and was an amazing dancer. He loved spending time with his friends and family. His goofy sense of humor brought smiles and laughter to those who were close to him. Shaun struggled for the majority of his adult life with mental illness, and despite his hardships, always walked with Yeshua. He will forever be loved and remembered by those who truly knew him as the kind, generous and gentle soul that he was. 

Shaun is survived by his mother, Marci Jones; his stepmother, Karen Helsper; daughter Emma Whetstone; his siblings, Elisha Helsper, Shane Helsper, K.C. McElrath, Caleb McElrath, Jacob Jones, Joshua Jones, Jocelyn Jones and Joelyn Jones; step-siblings Ashley King and Russel Fairchild; as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Shaun D. Helsper. 

The date for a celebration of life is still being determined by the family.
