Badgers fall to Lions, fresh off Senior Night win

BONNERS FERRY — Fresh off swapping the Priest River Spartans on Friday, the Badgers scored multiple runs against Lincoln County, but lost the doubleheader on Tuesday.

In game one, the Lions came out strong scoring five runs in the first. The Badgers returned the favor in inning two scoring four, but still trailed 6-4. By the fourth, the Badgers were down 8-4, but held the Lions.

The Badger earned two runs in the fifth and sixth, but were too far behind to catch the Lions. Final score 12-8 in favor of Lincoln County.

In game two, the Badgers started strong, matching the Lions run for run. The score was tied at five in the fourth. The Lions led by one in the fifth, but then in the flood opened and showed their fangs scoring 11, taking the win 18-6.

The Badgers are 2-2 in conference and 2-10 overall. The Badgers play Kellogg at home in a double header on Friday at 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Badgers smashed Spartans for Senior Night

BONNERS FERRY — For Senior Night on April 21, the Badgers smashed the Priest River Spartans 18-5 and 17-5 in a double header.

In game one, after three innings, the Badgers led by 10 runs, 13-3.

Taylor Sumpter threw fives across the board for the Badgers giving up five hits, five walks, five runs, while also recording five strikeouts in five innings on the mound. Offensively, it was Jodee Curtis who led Bonners Ferry amassing five RBIs in the contest.

In game two, the outcome was almost identical with Bonners Ferry defeating Priest River, 17-5.

The Spartans led 3-0 early on, but the Badgers returned fire early by scoring 16 out of their 17 runs in the first two innings.

Bonners Ferry was led by Curtis who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs; she also pitched a complete game on the mound giving up four hits, five runs (two earned), and recording five strikeouts.
