KELLOGG — Several Boundary County ballers competed last weekend at SilverHoops, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament.

One of the longest-running events in the Silver Valley, SilverHoops celebrated its pearl anniversary this year — 30 years of bringing the masses down to the blacktop at Teeters Field.

Hosted by the Silver Valley Chamber of Commerce, and sponsored by Silver Valley, SilverHoops has grown from a small 3-on-3 basketball tournament into a premier event in North Idaho, as thousands of people make their way into Kellogg for the two-day event.

This year was the largest event to date, with more than 720 players registered which equated to at least 180 teams — if each team takes the traditional approach of rostering four players.

Local team the Badger Ballers included Ty Schrock, Jameson Cartwright-Kissee, Peyton Hinthorn, and Cardon Pluid. They made it to the final four of their 18-team bracket for boys grades ninth to tenth.

For the seventh and eighth grade division, Colson Baisden, Dallin Baisden, Brydin Weymer and Weston Cartwright-Kissee competed for Boundary County. Although on the young side of their bracket, they fought hard against the taller teams.
