Second Harvest coming Sept. 1

BONNERS FERRY — The Second Harvest Free Food Distribution is coming to the Boundary County Fairgrounds Friday, Sept. 1, for the sixth distribution this year.
The Second Harvest truck will be at the west end of the fairgrounds from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Enter at the east end of the grounds.
Last month 237 families participated and received a total of around 17,000 pounds of food. There is no sign up or registration necessary.
You simply need to desire help with your food needs. Volunteers from Trinity Lutheran Church and Echo Springs School are among the 20 volunteers who prepare and distribute the food.
Food includes staples, fresh produce, bakery, dairy and meat.
