| August 31, 2023 1:00 AM

Denzel Hassan Tucker, 24, passed away Aug. 14, 2023, after a tragic car accident.

Denzel was born on Oct. 15, 1998, in Kambia, Rosinnoh Village, in Sierra Leone, Africa. Denzel was adopted by Dawn and Tim Tucker in 2003 and came to live with his new family in Moyie Springs, Idaho. Denzel attended McCormick School for nine years and graduated from eighth grade in 2013. He then attended Bonners Ferry High School, and graduated from Lake Pend Oreille High School in 2018.

After school, Denzel acquired a job in Seattle, Wash., due to striking up a conversation with a stranger on a plane ride to Hawaii to visit his grandmother. Denzel then spent the next four years living on and off in Seattle, washing windows commercially and landscaping. He had just recently enrolled in college classes at North Idaho College.

Denzel had the gift of gab; he could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything for any length of time! He enjoyed being active and loved sports, especially basketball and shredding the slopes on his snowboard. He loved being outside in nature, where he was finding peace in his meditative surroundings while also spending time with friends and family.

He is greatly missed by his 11 siblings, parents and extended family. There will be a celebration of life held on his birthday, Oct. 15, 2023.
