Trio named middle school wrestling champs
Badger middle school wrestlers competed at the Middle School District I championships with Dalton Regehr, Nate Brothers, and Melody Graves winning first in their weight classes last week.
Boundary County Middle School fought hard throughout the season.
The Sandpoint Middle School girls wrestling team won the first ever official District 1 Regional Tournament and dominated the competition by scoring 230 points en route to the district title, 139 more than second place.
Girls wrestling is growing across the state of Idaho and the United States.
At the high school level, the sport has grown 21% since last year, with over 800 girls coming out to wrestle.

Dominic Runyan, Nathan Stolley, Carson Schutte, Blake Nichols, Issac McBride, Wyatt Riek, and Baylor Sheets all wrestled tough but came up short of placing.
