PREP WRESTLING: Fierce competition at Tri-State, Girls win at Lakeland
COEUR d’ALENE — Badger boys wrestling competed at the Tri-State Tournament on Dec. 15-16, finishing 63rd place out of 67 teams from all classifications across Idaho, Washington and Oregon.
For the Badgers, Saber Blackmore (120) and state place Brandon Williams (126) went 2-2. Taylor Dodd (285) went 1-2.

RATHDRUM — Bonners Ferry girls wrestling took first at the Lakeland Girls Tournament on Dec. 16, with Sofia Brown (132), Aubree Graces (138), Savannah Rickter (152), Neveah Therrien (107) and Eva Willis (185) taking first for the Badgers.
Bonners Ferry led second place Sandpoint by 43 points.
Therrien, the defending 107 state champion went 4-0, over wrestlers from Mead (WA), Priest River, Kellogg and Sandpoint.
Brown also went undefeated going 3-0 against wrestlers from Sandpoint, Post Falls and Timberlake. Graves and Rickter were also undefeated going 3-0 as well. Willis went 2-0.
Ten of the Badgers placed in the top four with the team beating out second place Sandpoint by 43 points.
Taking second place for the Bonners Ferry was Hallie Hartman (235), Emma Roberts (165), Matisyn Stiern (126) and Aubrey Wells (145).
Ireland Grady took fourth and Rylann Lewis (145) finished in sixth place.
