Commercial units to occupy Marcus Anderson building

The Marcus Anderson building under construction at 8182 N. Wayne Drive in Hayden has commercial units to be occupied by Ascent Counseling and Marcus Anderson Family Foundation (now at 8382 N. Wayne Drive).

A third unit of 1,508 square feet is available through Daranie Anderson at mapidaho@Outlook.com. The building should be done in March.

Possibilities moves to Seasons building

Possibilities Wine & Gift  Shop has moved from 211 Sherman Ave. (after 19 years) to the Seasons of Coeur d'Alene restaurant building at 209 E. Lakeside Ave.

Peterson Place adds second building, planning third

Peterson Place, an assisted-living facility in Hayden, has added a second building and is planning a third. Owner Heidi Peterson had the first place built in 2016 at 1027 E. Honeysuckle Ave. and added a second this fall at 1035 E. Honeysuckle.

The option of the assisted-living place is to be the next best option to living at home, Peterson said. The staff welcomes residents, their families and friends and care providers in a warm and friendly environment. Services meet the physical, medical and mental needs of the residents.

The locked facility provides security for those who wander. Meals and snacks are provided. In good weather, outdoor entertainment is in the secure courtyards.

Metro Express Car Wash opens soon in Hayden

Offering four-minute car washes and free vacuums, Metro Express Car Wash will open soon at 418 Fryeburg Ave. (adjacent to U.S. 95) in Hayden.

Started in 2004 by Bill Martin in Boise, Metro Express will soon have 11 locations in the Inland Northwest. Customers' experience includes old-fashioned service and attention to detail.

Amazing Lash Studio opens in February

Offering the nation's largest and fastest-growing eyelash extension beauty franchise brand, Amazing Lash Studio is under construction at 405 E. Best Ave. (Unit 103) in Coeur d'Alene. 

Brandie Chapman will use professional-grade adhesive and a patented application process for customized lash styles for eyes and face shapes, desired lengths, curls and volume. It will open in February.

DOMA Coffee Roasting to open in Cd'A

DOMA Coffee Roasting will open a cafe in the 3,000-square-foot main floor in the new building off the Centennial Trail at 3091 S. Atlas Road.

It includes indoor and outdoor seating with views up and down the river, sport TVs, coffee, tea and local pasties and take-out food. Owners Muir and Julia Harrison formerly had Cafe DOMA downtown.

Wake Up Call Coffee opening off U.S. 95

Serving 68 options of coffees, energy drinks, teas and pasties, Wake Up Call Coffee is opening at 445 W. Cherry Lane (off U.S. 95).

The ClubHouse opens in Hayden

With a play space for families, The ClubHouse has opened at 10724 N. Government Way in Hayden.

Inspired by sons Cooper and Dawson, owner Megan Leary offers activities, classes, open play and unique events throughout the year. Parents can sip coffee while sitting down to work or relax.

Huetter Business Center opening soon

With two large buildings complete and the third under construction, Huetter Business Center is opening on Huetter Road with open visibility of Interstate 90. An electronic readerboard will face both sides of traffic with 65,000 vehicles a day.

Albertson's becomes Safeway on Ironwood

The Albertson's store in Ironwood Square officially became Safeway.

Runge's to remodel and add business

Starting in March, Runge Furniture at 303 E. Spokane Ave. (between Third and Fourth streets) will remodel and add a business. The second business prefers to make its own announcement.

Runge Furniture opened in 1946 at Second Street and Indiana Avenue and later moved to 12th Street at Sherman Avenue. It moved to its current location in 1980.

Jitterz Espresso drive-through to open soon

Jitterz Espresso will open its drive-through soon at 1422 Northwest Blvd.

The locally owned company opened its first location in 2006 and now has 14 in North Idaho and two event trailers. More are planned for Smelterville, Spirit Lake, Athol and Post Falls.

It offers hand-crafted espresso drinks, energy drinks, smoothies, chais, a build-your-own bagel and burrito bar and breakfast items. Hours are 4:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Happy Hour is 2-7 p.m. daily.

Gameday Men's Health plans Jan. 22 opening

Men's wellness is the objective of Gameday Men's Health which is planning a grand opening for Jan. 22 at 1250 W. Ironwood Drive (Suite 201).

Post Falls schools expanding at Prairie View

A facilities maintenance and operations complex is being built in phases at a 3-acre site adjacent to Prairie View Elementary School at the Greensferry-Horsehaven intersection.

It will include a food service distribution facility for storage and distribution for schools in the district with dry storage of non-perishables inside walk-in cooler freezer boxes with truck access and a parking lot. Ginno Construction is the general contractor with completion planned for June 2024.

• The Thomas George building under construction at Third Street and Front Avenue downtown will be 18 stories. It will comprise 60 condominiums on floors 4-18 with garages, an on-site concierge, a 24-hour gym, golf simulator, indoor-outdoor pool and a lake-view community terrace. • What had been the Canton restaurant at 113 N. Fourth St. will become the Hula Pot restaurant in mid-December. Owner Vincent Fong will offer Hawaiian barbecue, hot-pot choices, beer, wine, sake and soju 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. • The Hess Professional Building under construction at 8927 N. Hess St. in Hayden will comprise four commercial units. Two have been leased to Roots Hair Studio and First Steps Chiropractic. Two are available for lease through Rosenberger Construction at 208-772-5018. Completion should be Jan. 1. 

• The Appleway Quarter new building at 295 E. Appleway will have businesses on the ground floor and 24 apartments on the two floors above. Spaces are leased to 208 Massage & Spa and a tap house. The four-story building has 43 apartments with amenities of a prime location, a fitness center, a community clubhouse and a roof-top deck. • A large combination gas station and convenience store called Lancaster Market is being built at 6308 W. Lancaster Road in Rathdrum. Dan and Amanda Duvall will offer snacks, hot food, cold drinks and a huge selection of beer and wine when it opens. 

• A rumor is that Trader Joe's will be in the Runge Furniture area.

• The TownPlace Suites by Marriott Hotels will open in the spring where the Outback Steakhouse restaurant was in Northwood Center Court southeast of the intersection of Interstate 90 and Northwest Boulevard.

• With 100% wood-fired, Neapolitan-inspired products, a Cascadia Pizza Co. is "coming soon" to Rathdrum at 8083 W. Main St. (at the corner of Mill Avenue). It should open in the spring with indoor and outdoor seating, and take-out. Check www.Cascadiapizzaco.com.

• With many options for food and beverages in an elevated space and on a patio, Rooted Social House is planned for 310 N. Spokane St. in Post Falls.

• A four-story 151-room Hyatt Place Hotel is planned for the Millworx development on Fourth Avenue in Post Falls.  

• Taco Bell on Hanley Avenue is open after remodeling. 

• Mountain View Business Center is offering commercial leases for flex space in the new building at 9044 W. Prairie Ave. Pacific Mechanical & Electric is one tenant. • Chipotle Mexican Grill is evidently making plans for new places in Coeur d'Alene (on Neider Avenue) and Post Falls (off Highway 41). 

• A third location for Riverstone Dental Care is being built at the intersection of Ramsey Road and Prairie Avenue. Planning to open at the end of the year, it will join the company's current locations at 2344 N. Merritt Creek Loop in Coeur d'Alene and 3095 E. Mullan Ave. (Suite 400) in Post Falls. • A new Marriott Hotel will evidently be built downtown.

• A Gates Dental building will be at 2208 N. Merritt Creek Road.
