Is personal agenda behind Title IX complaint?

| February 9, 2023 1:00 AM

It is a shame that one individual, a non-resident, chose to file a Title IX complaint when the district is faced with the closing of one school, double shifts and losing programs.

In a perfect world, it would be wonderful to grant every complainer what they ask for but reality is a different matter. Personally, I have four adult children who all were raised participating in sports and have coached for schools, rec programs, competitive leagues and at the college level and have been involved in issues of this nature.

We understand the need for females to have the same opportunities, however, in a district where their goal is to maintain a strong education and provide a safe environment it appears to be a poor choice on Mr. Rossmiller’s part to attack this issue when safety and education should be primary concerns.

To get a better understanding of the complaint, simply search the internet for the complainant and see how many complaints in multiple states that he has filed, and some it would seem, for his own personal gain. It appears this may have been filed due to a personal agenda on his part rather than in the interest of equality. I encourage the community to do their own research and make decisions for yourself versus being misled by someone else’s opinion.

While Title IX issues are important, so is the education, health and safety of students and staff and, above all else, that should be everyone’s priority.
