Vote no on supplemental levy
Property owners are not responsible for funding schools, the state is. Levy money funds the job factory bloating school payroll with more liberal-minded teachers and unnecessary administrators. Early release schedules appease teachers' unions but reduce needed student class time, performance and equal education.
Families with daughters get fewer benefits from a levy than do families with boys attending BCSD schools. Levies make no difference in student classroom performance. There is no data to support smaller class sizes improves student learning, it's all about employing more teachers to satisfy their unions, and doing less teaching.
Levies provide discretionary funds school districts spend increasing staff salaries, retirement benefits, staff seminars and job education, air travel and accommodations, while less than 20% of those millions of dollars ever directly benefit students.
Do not reward the district’s failure, by giving BCSD another levy for providing substandard education, more than 50% of its students are doing worse, failing to meet state competency in math, English and science. Reduce taxes, keep your home equity and vote no on the levy.
