Girls back from injuries, see big win

BONNERS FERRY — With several players out due to injury, the Badgers brought up several JV players to fill in the gaps during a holiday tournament and game on Jan. 3.

The Badger defeated the East Valley Knights of Spokane,57-14 on Jan. 3.

In the first quarter, the Badgers jumped ahead 11-0.

Sydney Hinthorn was back for the Badgers after recovering from a knee injury. She had 7 steals and 10 points for the Badgers.

Mia Blackmore had 11 steals and 13 points.

“Ryley Kimball had a great defensive game,” head coach Travis Hinthorn said. “Asha Abubakari had some great shots in transition.”

Abubakari led the Badgers and the contest with 19 points.

The Badgers are 7-4 overall and play Moscow at home on Tuesday.

Over the Christmas break the Badgers competed at the Eagles Holiday Classic for West Valley High School in Spokane.

The Badgers only had two varsity players at the tournament, due to injury and a player stuck across the country due to flight delays.
