BONNERS FERRY — New elected officials were sworn in, with many being familiar faces.

For county assessor, former chief deputy assessor Olivia Drake will be taking over the role.

She told the Herald she aims to always be as fair as possible to the taxpayer.

Jennifer Economu, also a former chief deputy, is the new county treasurer.

Chad Workman, owner of the Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, has moved from the deputy coroner position to that of county coroner.

Glenda Poston, county clerk, retained her seat unopposed. Magistrate Judge Justin W. Julian also was retained.

Commissioners Tim Bertling and Ben Robertson were sworn in.

Robertson told the Herald, it feels he is glad to get started on his term and that the past few months have felt like a long application process.

Bertling was voted chair for the commissioners as the commission meeting opened.
