This "great-walking spinning wheel" was recently donated to the museum. The "drive wheel" measures 49 inches in diameter. To use this wheel, the person spinning stands during the process, continuously walking away from the spindle to draft and then toward the spindle to wind. This has been likened to a "rhythmic dance."

Save the date: Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, for Fiber Fest at the museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Come joins the fun on Jan. 21 as the museum will be hosting a fun-filled day of Fiber Arts demonstrations, including spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting and tatting.

While at the museum, be sure to take a look at this wonderful "great-walking spinning wheel."
