This Week in History ~ 100 years ago ~ "A flag pole is being erected on the courthouse grounds. The flag pole was donated to the county by the Bonners Ferry Lumber Company."

The photograph shows the flag pole next to the wooden courthouse in Bonners Ferry. The inset is a photograph of the flag in Veterans Memorial Park today.

One hundred years ago, the community was as proud of their U.S. flag flying, as we are today of our U.S. flag.

The Boundary County Historical Society and Museum, 7229 Main, Bonners Ferry, sponsors this column.
