Badger summer softball wins season opener by 20 runs against Priest River.

BONNERS FERRY — Badger summer softball wins big against Priest River in the season opener on June 28.
Coach Cynthia Sumpter said the Badgers had a slow start, which was expected with new players in a new environment.
“But we got comfortable and played great,” she said.
The Badgers won 30-10 in six innings. Full stats were not reported for the game.
Summer softball will play at Priest River on July 13 at 6 p.m. Local fans can catch the two teams squaring off again July 20 in Bonners Ferry at 6 p.m. On July 27, the Badgers play Sandpoint away at 6 p.m.
Summer softball includes Bonners Ferry high school players and middle schoolers. This is their first season.
