Randy Siver
Randy Siver was born July 8, 1952, in Harrisville, N.Y., to Vernon and Leatrice (Lee) Siver. He joined a brother Tim, who was 4, and then, four years later, another brother, Lindsey, joined the family. He grew up in Lancaster, Mass. He had many fond memories of playing out in the woods near his home. He and his friends spent a lot of time in his tree house they called the "Citadel," he was always full of adventure! He also loved spending a lot of time at his Uncle Don and Aunt Frieda’s apple orchard.
Randy married Karrell Kenney in 1970. They had three children, Shawna, Seth and Sam. He later lost his beloved Shawna Wanna at the young age of 25. When his children were young, he loaded them into a station wagon and moved them to Bonners Ferry. He bought land up Camp Nine and lived off-grid for many years. Later, he bought a house on Oak St. His marriage to Karrell ended in the early 1990s. He married Helen Eby in October 1994.
Randy was a jack of all trades, he was a plumber, carpenter, logger and commercial fisherman, and he also built his own sawmill to make lumber. He could build and fix anything. His biggest love was the ocean and commercial fishing. He had many boats. He fished out of La Push and Neah Bay, Wash., for many years, taking Karrell and his kids with him. Later, he commercial fished in the Gulf of Mexico on the boat the Jukebox. Lastly, he settled on living out his life on a beautiful 34 acres in Porthill, Idaho. He loved the view, privacy, and abundant wildlife there.
Randy was strong-willed and stubborn at times; he had an enormous heart and an incredible sense of humor. We will always remember his wonderful, and mischievous smile. He was clever and full of knowledge; gained through all his life experiences.
He is survived by his companion and friend, Helen Siver; sons Seth (Stacie) Siver and Sam (Candi) Siver; brothers Tim (Ferida) Siver and Lindsey Siver; grandchildren Arlaina (Jeremy) Johnson, Hattie (John) Hawkins, Shawna, Brady, Ruby Siver and Isaac Siver; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nephews and cousins throughout the country.
