Kootenai River Run returns with local scholarships

BONNERS FERRY — Kootenai River Run returns and continues to support Bonners Ferry High School graduates with scholarships for their excellence in school and participation in cross country and track.

“Being part of Kootenai River Days has been a great way to become part of a bigger, cohesive and fun weekend of events planned all over town,” Paul Bonnell, the race’s co-director, said.

The Kootenai River Run is sponsored by Shelman Realty and Idaho Forest Group this year.

“Having Shelman Realty back again this year as an official sponsor, along with Idaho Forest Group, has helped us manage the cost of the run while freeing up race entries to fund our scholarships,” co-director Jim Cadnum said. “We’ve enjoyed watching this race grow and become a mainstay in our community over the years, with families coming out year after year with their kids and their friends to take part in a fun-filled morning of music, prizes, and camaraderie.”
