9B Family Foundations offers summer series
BONNERS FERRY — 9B Family Foundations is offering a free parenting course series this summer.
“We’ve been listening to community members and decided it is time to tackle these issues in a class,” said Charli Turner, owner and director at 9B Family Foundations.
This will include parenting classes on different topics this summer. Free child care will be provided. The next course is June 30 at 6 p.m covering building summertime memories and navigating the balance between unstructured mayhem and controlled chaos of the summer.
Turner said this class is to help parents plan structure around summer and set aside intentional time with the kids as school is now out.
Parents get freaked out with the summer schedule, but that doesn't mean a routine should be abandoned, she said. This class is to help provide structure while still keeping the summer fun.
Turner has previously held classes on depression, grief, divorce and parental development, among others.
For families participating in the summer series, kids can be dropped off at 9B Family Foundations located at 7142 Second St., Bonners Ferry, from 5:30-6 p.m.
Parents and adults interested in the course should meet at the Chip and Chop located at 6421 Main St., Bonners Ferry. Appetizers will be provided, but class participants are encouraged to order entrees.
Other dates for the upcoming series includes:
June 30, 6 p.m. — Building summertime memories and navigating the balance between unstructured mayhem and controlled chaos of summer.
July 28, 6 p.m. — Blending families and navigating expectations of blended families and co-parenting with an ex-partner.
