Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympic Athletes

BONNERS FERRY — The first statewide Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympic Athletes will start in Bonners Ferry on Monday, June 5.

The torch run will start at the top of the South Hill by Liberty Station and travel south to a short ceremony on the lawn in front of Bonners Ferry Middle School. The run will start at 9 a.m., followed by the ceremony about the Special Olympics and the Law Enforcement Torch Run about 9:30 a.m..

The law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes will be carrying the Flame of Hope through the state into Opening Ceremonies on June 9 in Nampa.

The LETR for Special Olympics IDaho engages law enforcement agencies statewide championing acceptance and inclusion for people with intellectual disabilities, starting first with their own communities.

Legs of the torch run will cross various cities the week of June 5 through June 9.
