Search Ongoing for Lost Man in Smith Creek area
BOUNDARY COUNTY —On Wednesday, May 31, the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an overdue and possibly lost hiker.
Bourathaphon Inthanthanya, from Redding, California, was looking for wild mushrooms in the Smith Creek area of Boundary County and did not arrive at an agreed upon destination to meet with the rest of his group. He was last seen on Wednesday at about 5 p.m.
BCSO and Boundary County Search & Dive Rescue have been conducting a search of the Smith Creek area since Wednesday, with the assistance of helicopters from Flathead County, Montana, and Spokane County, Washington. Searchers have not yet located Inthanthanya.
Inthanthanya is described as a thin Asian male in his 50s. He was last seen wearing a black jacket with white stripes and jeans.
