Connie Kay Hamlin, 78
With great sadness, the family of Connie Kay Hamlin announces her passing on May 26, 2023, at the age of 78.
Connie was born in Clovis, N.M., on March 1, 1945. She was the second child of three to Roy and Wilma Barnes. In 1959 when Connie was 13 years old, (brother Mick was 5 and sister Sally was a senior in high school), Roy and Wilma moved the family to St. Maries, Idaho.
She graduated from St. Maries High School in the Class of 1965 where she met her first husband Darell Dugar and had two children, daughter Darla and son Rob. Connie and Darell’s marriage ended in divorce and she later married her second husband, Tom Hamlin. After Tom passed away, Connie met and married Jack Mowzingo then moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, in 1992 where she lived the rest of her life.
Connie was a very talented person: there wasn’t much she couldn’t do. She loved the Lord and loved to fish for bluebacks. Connie is preceded in death by both her parents, Roy Barnes and Wilma Barnes; her first two husbands, Darell and Tom; her aunts and uncles; and one grandchild, Mark Means Kahawli, Hawaii.
Connie is survived by her sister, Sally Means of Kahawli, Hawaii; brother Mick and Barb Barnes of Mesa, Ariz.; her children, Kelly Booth of Enumclaw, Wash., Darla and Rick O’Donell of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Rob Dugar of Emida, Idaho; and stepchildren David and Cora Mowzingo of St. Maries, Cheryl and Tim Lockard of Plummer, Idaho, Joleyn Johnson and Rob Leman of St. Maries; her grandchildren; and loving husband, Jack R. Mowzingo.
Connie will also be missed by all the family friends in Bonners Ferry. If you never knew Connie, you missed out on knowing a truly wonderful person.
I would like to thank all the medical staff at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center for the great care you provided for our Connie. The family would like to respect Connie’s wishes and not hold a funeral service in her honor. Thank you, Jack R. Mowzingo.
