Free sports physicals for student at BCH in July
BONNERS FERRY — Boundary Community Hospital will continue its free annual sports physical program to provide free health screenings for youth athletes.
The screenings will be offered July 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This program is in collaboration with Boundary County School District 101.
Physicals are a requirement before students can participate in BCSD sports, robotics, flag football, or any other sport. This opportunity is available to students entering grades 7, 9 and 11, or those who are new to the sports programs, BCH officials said.
Hospital medical staff and employees volunteer their time to ensure that every student has the chance to participate in sports, BCH officials said. They encouraged all students to take advantage of the remarkable one-night-only event.
To make the process seamless, students and their parents or guardians are asked to meet at BCH’s cafeteria entrance on Comanche Street. Signs will then guide them through six different testing stations and conclude with a brief consultation with a medical practitioner, ensuring a comprehensive health assessment.
A consent form signed by both signed by parents or guardians and the student is necessary for approval and permission. Coaches will provide the consent forms at the event.
It is essential for parents/guardians to accompany their child during the process at the sports physicals, officials wrote.
