Slam Dunk, 2023 Badger Basketball Camp

BONNERS FERRY — 2023 Badger Basketball Camp was a slam dunk success with campers learning about the game and practicing drills that will benefit them now and in the future.

“I was pleased to see all of the high school coaches assist, and many adults step up and help with Badger Camp and the Little Dribbler's Camp as well,” camp director Nathan Williams said. “Without them, the camp wouldn't happen.”

At the beginning of the week, Williams told participants that coaches would be watching to see which male and female camper displayed the most hustle to receive an award.

Williams said nearly every camper this year could have qualified for the hustle award, but it was up to the high school coaches to announce the winners, Daisy Williams and Tanner Baisden.

Several other competitions took place over the week, so campers could get a feel for each type of activity. On the last day of camp was "Basketball Olympics" and all scores from various basketball competitions on a sheet per team.

The winners per age bracket were:

Youngest girls: Skylea Williams, first; Talia Baisden, second; and Rhea Banning, third

Youngest boys: Tanner Baisden, first; Bradon Cartwright-Kissee, second; and Gordon Woefle, third

Middle-aged girls: Daisy Williams, first; Emersyn Winkleseth, second; Jacobie Bateman, third

Middle-aged boys: Nathan Issacharoff, first; Oliver Gibbons, second; Emmett Ratliff, third

Oldest girls: Bristol Hill, Jaycee Bateman, second (tie); Kayli Petersen, second (tie); Libby Smith, third

Oldest boys: Brydin Weymer, first; Nate Brothers, second; Dallin Baisden, third

Overall winners: Bristol Hill and Brydin Weymer

Williams said he hopes that all campers and coaches commit to their “Badger Goals” worksheet throughout the summer.
