Rickter dominates for Team Idaho at Turf Wars
FARMINGTON, Utah — Boundary County high school senior wrestler Savannah Rickter (G-165) dominated for Team Idaho, going 4-0 and 4-1, at the Western State Turf War duals for High School Girls on June 18-20.
A total of 13 teams from Hawaii, Alaska, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Montana and Oklahoma took part in the event. Team Idaho high school girls finished second in Greco-Roman and third in freestyle for their respective bracket.
Rickter went 4-0 in Greco Roman and 4-1 in freestyle wrestling for Team Idaho. Rickter will continue to wrestle for Team Idaho this summer and will compete at the 2023 US Marine Corps Junior & 16U Nationals wrestling contests in Fargo, North Dakota, on July 15-23.
Rickter is a two-time state-placer and District I & II wrestling champ. She will wrestle for Bonners Ferry High School this winter.
Team Idaho’s high school boys were named champions of the Western State Turf War duals.
