SLL All-stars ready for district tournament

The Sandpoint Little League all-star team will play seven games from June 30 trough July 9 in District 1 pool play at fields in Hayden and Coeur d'Alene. The team includes players from both Bonner and Boundary counties — Cruz Oliver, Mac Peters, Trevor Tadic, Jake Peak, Kaleb Bogadi, Brady Yarbrough, Erik Hansen, Henry Madden, Coen Leavitt, Eli Franz, Noah Langlois and Gordon Woelfle. The District 1 Championship games are set to be held July 14-16 in Hayden.
In preparation for the tournament, the all-star team competed in the Father's Day All-star Prep Tournament in Cheney, Wash. where they took second place. Sandpoint defeated South Spokane 10-2, Greater Richland 4-3 and West Plains 22-5. Their only loss came against Pasco in a close 4-2 game.
In addition to the tournament, there will be a scrimmage against Trail Little League of British Columbia at War Memorial Field Wednesday at 3 p.m.
