Badgers 3-5, scoreless against Sandpoint Bulldogs
SANDPOINT — Fresh off earning a split against Grangeville last weekend, the Badgers (3-5) were shut out against Sandpoint at War Memorial Field on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs won the first game 15-0, and the second game, 10-0.
In the bottom of the first inning, Sandpoint’s Cody Newhart broke the ice with a triple that scored three runs. The Bulldogs then went on to score 10 more unanswered runs over the next three innings to secure their first victory of the season, 15-0. In Game 2, it was Jack Zimmerman who batted in the first two runs with a single to centerfield in the bottom of the third. Drew Lehman batted in two more runs in the sixth with an inside-the-park home run to put the Bulldogs up, 7-0. After a long series of walks in the sixth, Sandpoint ended up trotting in three more runs, which ended the game in a 10-0 victory.
