Mrs. Loretta Leonard was recently presented a gold watch and diamond-studded lapel pin by the Bank of Idaho for 25 years of faithful, dedicated service to the bank. Making the award was Bill Mackey, manager of the Bonners Ferry branch.
B.F.H.S. Music Department sent 17 students to the solo ensemble judication at the University of Idaho.Superior ratings were earned by Mike Ellersick, Nancy Fagenstrom, and Shellye Lindsay.
Bob Vetter was so delighted with the singing of “Happy Birthday” to him by the senior citizen’s group that he is now recommending them to the Lawrence Welk Show.

Local hunting guide Aaron Wages has seen wolves while in Alaska. Just two weeks ago while horn hunting in northern Boundary County, Wages saw his first Idaho wolves- a pack of nine that ran up on his black Labrador Retriever. "The dog didn’t really care. He was thinking they were other dogs," the Moyie Springs man said.
After only three years of bowling, Kaleb Stockton is the Idaho State Champion bowler for his age group. "Makes me feel really good. It’s just fun, said the eight year old son of Kevin and Heidi Stockton.
The opening of a home in Bonners Ferry for up to eight women recovering from alcohol and drug abuse has been denied. The City Council on Tuesday deadlocked 2-2 on the issue, and Mayor Dave Anderson broke the tie by voting against it.
