Local ceremony honored fallen firefighters

BONNERS FERRY — A local memorial ceremony was held on May 5 for Idaho firefighters who have died in the line of duty since 1894, at the main Bonners Ferry Fire Station.

This event was in conjunction with the 42nd National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service that took place on Sunday, May 7 to pay tribute to the lives of firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2022 and in previous years.

The local memorial drew local families and representatives from all fire districts in Boundary County. The event was sponsored by the Boundary County Chaplain Corps.
