BONNERS FERRY — A local man was sentenced to 15 years up to life imprisonment on May 17 in connection to sex crimes against two minors which took place several years ago.

At the time, the victims were as young as 5 years old.

Jason L. Williams, 65, pleaded guilty on the count of lewd conduct with a child under 16 in 2010, a felony and sexual battery in 2018, a misdemeanor. The second charge was amended to sexual battery in place of two counts of lewd conduct, due to Williams pleading guilty.

For the felony charge, Williams was sentenced 15 years in jail followed by an indeterminate period of incarceration up to life. On the misdemeanor charge, he was sentenced one year in custody and has 143 days time served.

Restitution was awarded to the victims for $263 and $520.
