BCVS hosting festival, fashion show
Many community residents are both loyal attendees and contributors to the Boundary County Victim Services’ annual Fall Festival & Fashion Show.
This year’s fundraiser will take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Great Northwest Territories Event Center located at 998 Mountain Meadows Rd in Naples. The doors open at 5 p.m. and the action will start at 6 p.m.
The need for assistance for crime victims and their families has been increasing in the community. As many know, Boundary County Victim Services is a non-profit which provides services to victims and their families when they are seeking assistance and support after experiencing Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, or another crime.
Last year, the support that the agency received through donations, volunteers, and the enthusiastic and generous participation in its auctions was overwhelming, BCVS officials said.
"We received a record amount of financial support raising over $18,000," BCVS officials said in a press release. "The funds raised each year help us assist survivors with things like a safe place to stay when fleeing a dangerous situation, counseling to promote healing, and advocacy to provide information, resources, and support. The funds raised through this event will support survivors of crimes and their families in our community."
This year, BCVS will be offering a full dinner and dessert included in the price of the ticket. In addition to dinner, the evening will consist of a live auction featuring many baskets stuffed with wonderful and sometimes delicious things donated by local businesses and individuals, a raffle of three beautiful handmade quilts, a fashion show provided by Baked & Lavish, and opportunities to win prizes throughout the event!
"We hope to fill the event center with delicious food, good company, and everyone having a wonderful time," BCVS officials said.
