Veterans lunch: all veterans invited to free lunch and to visit with students; 11:20 a.m., Naples Elementary.

Veterans dinner: 6:30 p.m., Veterans Alliance building, 6635 Lincoln St., Bonners Ferry; all veterans invited to attend free dinner to honor their service.

BFHS "Field of Flags: all day, BFHS, 6485 Tamarack Lane; flags are being placed on the school's football field in honor of local veterans; all invited to dedicate flags for servicemen and women and walk the field to pay tribute. Event runs through Nov. 13.

Veterans Day tribute: 10:30 a.m., Boundary County Fairgrounds exhibit hall. Following ceremony, all invited to lunch at Memorial Hall; a $2 donation is requested.

Chili cook-off: 5-7:30 p.m., VFW building, 6635 Lincoln St., Bonners Ferry; get ready to spice up the competition and dedicate a fiery chili to your favorite branch of the military.
