Operation Green Light returns to Boundary County
BONNERS FERRY— Boundary County is showing its support for veterans by lighting the courthouse green from Nov. 6-12, as part of the national Operation Green Light.
Operation Green Light is a campaign designed to show support for the nation's veterans, raise awareness of the county's role in providing support and resources to veterans, and advocate for legislation that will strengthen counties' ability to support veterans, officials announced on the campaign's website.
The National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers invites the nation’s 3,069 counties, parishes, and boroughs to join Operation Green Light and show support for veterans by lighting buildings green from Nov. 6-12.
“By shining a green light, county governments and our residents will let veterans know that they are seen, appreciated and supported,” officials wrote.
In 2022, Boundary County also lit the green in support of veterans by lighting the pillars of the courthouse. This year, the light display has grown. Additionally businesses in the community have taken the initiative to add their own light displays.
