Badgers fall to 5A Vikings in season opener
BONNERS FERRY — The 3A Bonners Ferry Badgers stormed back to take the lead after a 12-point deficit at halftime to the 5A Coeur d’Alene Vikings on Monday night, the bigger-school Vikings had an answer.
Sophomore Caden Symons scored 11 straight points in a 15-0 run as Coeur d’Alene pulled away from Bonners Ferry 60-48 in a matchup of two of the top teams in the state in their classifications.
“We missed a lot of stuff early and late,” said Coeur d’Alene acting head coach Arnold Brown. “But we stayed in there and scratched and clawed defensively. And Caden was like Stella — he got his groove back.”
