Governor visits KTEC, proclaims October LAUNCH Month
Gov. Brad Little returned to North Idaho this week to proclaim October 2023 Idaho LAUNCH month.
He made the proclamation Tuesday before a couple hundred high school students and education partners at the Kootenai Technical Education Campus in Rathdrum.
“Our shared goal is to have our young Idahoans stay in Idaho to learn, work, and raise their families and their ability to attain postsecondary education and training in Idaho is a main driver of our ability to reach that goal,” Little said, reading the proclamation.
Little was at Coeur d’Alene High School last week talking to students about Idaho LAUNCH.
Designed for high school seniors seeking education or training for in-demand careers, Idaho LAUNCH is a grant program that provides up to 80% of tuition and fees paying up to a maximum of $8,000. Registration for the program opened Tuesday.
North Idaho College is hosting a LAUNCH Informational Forum at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 on NIC’s main campus. Attendees at the forum, both in-person or live on Zoom, will be eligible to win one of five $1,000 scholarships.
