Annual fall food drive date set

| October 12, 2023 1:00 AM

The Selkirk Association of Realtors is holding its annual fall food drive next week and they're inviting the community to help them raise as much food as possible to help those in need.

The drive will be held Friday, Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Super 1 Foods in Bonners Ferry.

Among the items needed, and which are in low supply at the Bonners Ferry Food Bank, are peanut butter and jelly, chili, skillet meals such as Hamburger Helper, tuna, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, cereal, ramen and canned soup. Also needed are deodorant, bar soap, laundry soap and dish soap.

"Please keep our local Bonners Ferry Food Bank in mind as you do business in North Idaho and want to give back to our communities," said Darci Price, associate broker for Century 21 Four Seasons Realty and who is hoping organize the food drive. "A little goes a long way in small towns. Support the community that supports your business."

In addition to non-perishable items, grocery store gift cards and cash donations are always welcome. Donations made by check should be made out to Community Action Partnership.

Donations can be dropped off at Century 21 Four Seasons, 6521 Walker Lane; Edward Jones — Merle Ansley, 7169 Main St.; or Alliance Title, 6977 Main St.

Those who are able are invited to volunteer an hour of their time to help collect donations on Oct. 20.
