Missing Man near Shorty Peak

SHORTY PEAK ---- Search crews are currently looking for a missing man in the area of Shorty Peak, on the north western side of Boundary County.

Boundary County Search and Rescue with assistance from Hall Mtn. Fire are currently on a search for a missing 73 year old man.

The man is an avid hiker and has been possibly missing for several days, his vehicle has been located by Border Patrol parked in the area of the trailhead and the search is still ongoing, Boundary County Sheriff's Office announced in a press release.

He was reported missing late Thursday night after a friend checked his residence after he had not been heard from for a few days. The missing person has a home in Boundary County and a residence in Washington state.

Border Patrol, Forest Service and the Sheriffs Office have all been involved in this incident which is currently under the direction of Boundary Search and Dive Rescue Team.

Officials request that the public avoid this area to allow search and rescue to do their job.
