FOR thanks friends and neighbors for support at annual barbecue
BONNERS FERRY — Friends of the Restorium thanks all that attended the annual barbecue and fundraiser in June, which helps improve the value of life for Restorium residents.
FOR is a nonprofit organization with the goal of providing entertainment and other recreational opportunities to help improve the quality of life of the residents at the Boundary County Restorium since the 1970s.
After four difficult and challenging years, FOR members were excited to again hold the annual barbecue, they wrote in a thank you to supporters.
“That day has become so much more than just a fundraiser,” said Jeannie Robinson, FOR president. “It’s a day friends and neighbors gather together for an afternoon of visiting, for and showing our support for our senior residents and this exceptional facility we're are so fortunate to have here in our community.”
On behalf of FOR, Robinson thanked the members of the Mennonite Church for providing homemade pies for dessert and the silent auction.
FOR also thanked those that donated to the silent auction including: South Hill Lockers, Idaho Lodge and RV, 3 Mile Cafe, Feist Creek Restaurant, Iron Mike’s, Northern Air, Three Mile Antiques, Larson’s, Mi Pueblo Restaurant, Jim Thompson, Linda’s Hair Salon, Dressing Room, Shear Shack Barber Shop, hair Connection, The Haircut Place, Boundary Tractor, Kootenai River Inn, Bonners Ferry Vet Clinic, Pro X Home Center, Beck’s Furniture, Mountain Mafia, Northern Treasure, Bonners Ferry Glass, JB Tires, Bonners Ferry Driver Education, Connie Gentry, Kristi and Vern Wilson, Robert and Cathy Wells, Marcivee Cossette, Donna Nystrom, Shelley Munson, Chic-N-Chop, Sugar Plum Floral, Donna Jo Dirks, Kevin Schnuerle, Dick Schnuerle, Rod and Jeannie Robinson, Shawn Watt Accounting, The Gathering Place, Boundary County Museum, and Ron Large.
“The community and businesses have been so generous every year,” Robinson said. “On the behalf of FOR, we appreciate living in such a great community.”
Over the years donations have paid for generators, kitchen equipment, new dining room tables and chairs, easy-access van and much more.
The annual barbecue is the last Sunday in June at the Restorium.
