Last Second Harvest for the year Oct. 4

BONNERS FERRY — Second Harvest food donations returns to the Boundary County Fairgrounds for this year's final donation on Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Second Harvest and volunteers will distribute at the west end of the fairgrounds. Cars should enter the fairgrounds from the Fourth Street entrance to line up.
No sign up or registration is necessary to pick up food, just a desire for help with food needs. Food usually includes staples, fresh produce, bakery, dairy and meat.
Last month 240 families participated, receiving 18,000 pounds of food.
Volunteers from Trinity Lutheran Church and Echo Springs School are among the 20 volunteers who prepare and distribute food, but anyone is welcome to volunteer, beginning at 10 a.m. that morning.
