The members of the Kootenai Valley Commercial Club went on record Monday night as favoring the calling of a Western Tariff Congress, with a view of maintaining the present tariff rates on western produce and adopting plans for taking tariff matters out of the hands of partisan politics and formulating an American tariff policy.
S.M. Soule and Oliver Cromwell have leased Kent’s hall and plan to use the building for a roller skating rink. They have purchased 100 pairs of roller skates and plan to remodel the hall for rink purposes. A new floor has been laid.
M.T. Huffman has accepted the position of local manager of the Texas Oil Company. The Texas Oil Co. is constructing a warehouse and gas tanks on the right-of-way of the Spokane International Railway Co.

It took the Badgers 48 minutes and one and a half seconds to get started Friday night, but no one is complaining. After an incredible six-touchdown exchange in overtime play, Tim Foust knocked down a Lakeland conversion pass attempt to secure victory number two for Bonners Ferry in conference completion.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bosworth and Sam Gilbert entered the logger events at the Orofino competition last weekend. Bob finished first in the single bucking competing against professionals like David Littlejohn, the world champion of that event.
If you want to steal a car and get away with it, it looks like San Francisco, Calf. is the place to go. Local police officers reported arresting a man Friday who had been driving a vehicle stolen in San Francisco but later released him because San Francisco authorities refused to extradite him.

Bonners Ferry Police said Tuesday they will charge three boys- ages 15 and 16- with spray painting the Veterans monument in Veterans Memorial Park next to the library. The trio also was responsible for vandalism at the Boundary County Middle School.
Bonners Ferry City Council will replace the cement floor of the 70-year-old city pool after a recommendation from former city administrator and consultant Mike Woodward. The project is expected to cost $45,000. Work will be done by Bonner Ferry Builders.
Boundary County Historical Society is hosting a free song swap with Gary Eller at 7 pm Friday, Sept. 26, at the museum in downtown Bonners Ferry. Eller has collected nearly 1,000 songs about Idaho. Eller is seeking older songs from the area’s logging and mining days.
